Dar Nour has been the first guest house created in Tangier. Opened in 1999, it has taken place in an authentic beautiful house inside the Kasbah of Tangier, which is the most elevated part of the city, with its sinuous streets and secret places. Restored with a profound passion for beauty and simplicity, Dar Nour - « House of light » - worships its name by privileging and revealing the caressing light up on its bright chalked walls.
A house full of subtile refinesses ; one of the finest adresses in Tangier, as it is claimed by magazines and guide books like Geo, Le Point, Capital, L’Art de Voyager, Jalouse.... A main reference, such as told by Elle, Travel Leisure, Gente Viaje, le Goût de Tanger, Numéro... and this is but a mere excerpt of the list of publications that worshiped Dar Nour. Inside the city centre, Dar Nour is situated above the 14th century city walls of the Kasbah, looking over the city and the Street of Gibraltar.
Dominating the old medina, the different terraces of Dar Nour offer a tremendous point of vue over 360° on the lively tableau of the city, view that often has been shown on front pages of magazines and books about Tangier. Abdellatif, Aladin, Nadia and Souad are there to make your stay comfortable, and to offer you meals that have the reputation to be among the best in town. Though, Dar Nour does not ambition to be a grand hotel and remains a simple and familiar place which staff intends in the first place to make you feel at home.
The reputation of Dar Nour is due to its decoration too, gathered for the last fifteen years from all over the Arabic Muslim world, made of libraries plenty of books from all horizons, of carpets and suzani collections, old ceramics and objects witnesses of the city’s memories.
The rare elegance of Dar Nour proceeds from its simplicity and the history of the objects which make it lively.
